Our early childhood education programs

People Serving People proudly offers two locations to nurture, grow, and prepare children ages six weeks to 5 years old for school readiness and lifelong learning. Both locations are licensed, 4-Star Parent Aware-Rated facilities with compassionate educators ready to support your child’s education.

Building bright futures

Culturally responsive, joy-filled learning

We believe that children learn best through play in a safe, nurturing environment with consistent, predictable, and positive relationships. Therefore, our program curriculum centers around school readiness and the development of social and emotional regulation. Above all, we focus on preparing children to be ready for life and learning.

Our early learning approach

People Serving People’s Early Learning Program’s curriculum and programming focus on three areas crucial for early childhood success: the children, their families and caregivers, and our teachers.

Building blocks for lifelong learning

Explore curriculum

Your child’s learning

To ensure children's success, we believe they require a safe, nurturing, and stable environment. We prepare children for school and lifelong learning, with small groups and low child-to-teacher ratios.

Get engaged

Family engagement

When you enroll your child, you enroll your entire family. Because we invest in parents, grandparents, and caregivers who are in a child’s life, as well as the child.

Schedule a visit

Our teachers

We focus on the continued quality and development of our teachers. We hire teachers who have made early education their passion and career, who genuinely love helping children grow into lifelong learners. Schedule a visit to meet our teachers.

“[The teachers] are extremely nice and loving people, a family you will never imagine having; their caring and understanding is top-notch. Thank you for being you and being authentic.”

Frequently asked questions

What does it mean to be a “Strong Beginnings” site?

This means that Hennepin County recognizes us as providing higher-quality care than the average childcare center. We operate at lower ratios and smaller class sizes, pay our teachers higher wages, and incorporate parent engagement into our focused programming. There are only 10 sites in Hennepin County that have received this recognition.

Are parents welcome in the classrooms?

Absolutely! Our open-door policy highly encourages parents to spend time in their child’s classroom. Parents may also volunteer for field trips and in many other ways if they have the desire to be involved.

How does communication about my child happen?

There are multiple ways to communicate. Most parents prefer to use our Brightwheel app on their phone to check in and communicate on a day-to-day basis. If you would like, you can also call the center and ask for a teacher, call the classroom’s direct line, or communicate over email. There is a section on your enrollment form where you can express your preference.

Can I view the program’s childcare plan?

Yes, the Early Learning Center’s complete Child Care Program Plan is available to any parent upon request.

How can I make a tuition payment?

Families at the Early Learning Center Main Site can provide program tuition payments directly at the center or may choose to set up online payments through our Brightwheel app.

What is your inclement weather policy?

We use the Minneapolis Public School closures as a guideline. For any closure, parents will receive information through our Brightwheel app.

Do you support allergy and dietary preference needs?

Yes! Please speak with a director to review your specific needs and requests.

Do you require families to sign children in and out?

Yes, we require all family members to use our sign-in system every day to sign their children both in and out. The use of this system is of vital importance for the safety of the children entrusted to our care. We must know at all times exactly which children are in our care. Should we ever need to evacuate the building, the accuracy of our attendance system will help us ensure that all children are safe. This is our primary responsibility, and we need your consistent cooperation to make sure our daily attendance records are accurate.

What is your policy on breast milk?

We support breastfeeding mothers by offering nursing rooms/spaces in our sites for mothers to nurse. We also have thorough policies for handling breast milk. Please speak with your site manager or consult our family handbook for specific information regarding breast milk.

What is your medication policy?

When it comes to administering medication, we follow local and state child care licensing regulations. Please see your site manager or consult our family handbook for specific information regarding the administration of medication at your school.

What are your immunization requirements?

All children enrolled at both of People Serving People’s Early Learning Center locations must follow their state’s recommended schedule of immunizations. We will work with families to enroll children who are not vaccinated because of conscientious objection.
