Downtown Shelter Volunteer Spotlight

We’re honored to shout out one of our outstanding culinary volunteers, Luc Moors! Luc was initially introduced to PSP in 2022 by his wife, Carolien, who supports many volunteer programs throughout the Twin Cities. Ever since they participated in their first Meal Service shift together, Luc has committed to Monday Dinner Meal Service shifts! In addition, Luc has consistently stepped in on short notice when we’re short-handed on volunteer support. Luc, his wife Carolien, and their three children have resided in MN since 2007 and enjoy traveling together, spending time outdoors, learning about different cultures, and being heavy in the local restaurant scene.

When asked about his volunteer experience with PSP, Luc shared, “I love the team of volunteers and staff I serve with, and love seeing guests enjoy food that has been prepared and served with love. Having a sit-down meal has been important in my family, and I love being a part of making the meal experience for our guests as enjoyable as possible.”

St. Anne's Place Volunteer Spotlight

As we turn our attention to our St. Anne’s Place shelter, we are also excited to shout out Chris Pederson! Chris is a fantastic volunteer who brings a special calmness and flexibility, an asset to St. Anne’s Place programming. She is willing to help with any of our needs, whether it is covering the front desk during our community meetings or helping with childcare during programming for our mothers. Her adaptability, combined with our fluctuating needs, is deeply appreciated by our staff.

Before sharing her time with St. Anne’s Place, Chris had been a tenured volunteer at one of our local food shelves. She decided she needed a change and has been with us since December 2024. Chris has been a home care nurse for 20 years. In her spare time outside of volunteering, she enjoys reading, gardening, and turning her lawn into a natural pollinator lawn!
