Providing permanent housing and services

People Serving People operates 10 permanent supportive housing apartments located within our Downtown Shelter, which provide long-term, stable housing and wrap-around services.

About our Supportive Housing Program

People Serving People provides stable housing units to 10 families as part of our Supportive Housing Program. People Serving People enters into a lease with families and maintains the units. In so doing, we provide families:

  • Supportive, flexible, affordable housing to families who are experiencing high levels of barriers to gaining stable housing.
  • On-site, wrap-around services to help families stabilize their lives.
  • Client-centered goal planning around each family’s long-term housing plans.
  • Intentional relationship building to help families establish a positive rental history.

People Serving People’s Supportive Housing Units are filled through Hennepin County’s Coordinated Entry System. There is no way to apply directly through People Serving People.

Available support services

Families who lease with us get access to on-site, wrap-around services that support their stabilization, including:

“I originally stayed in shelter here. Now I’m in an apartment, and my kids have attended the Early Learning Center. They love it. I’ve been able to get my associate’s degree, and I was accepted to get my bachelor’s degree. People Serving People helped me do that.”

Help us continue to support families

In addition to supporting our families in our Supportive Housing program, we need you to join us so that we can advocate for more housing solutions like it and serve all of our families.
