People Serving People’s St. Anne’s Place Shelter welcomes you! On this page, you’ll find helpful information about services, hours, meal times, and more.

Meal times



Join us in our dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our Culinary Services team strives to cook nutritious, culturally-relevant meals, and they welcome your suggestions.

Hours (meals will not be served outside of these times)

Breakfast

Monday to Friday: 8 to 9 a.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 7 to 9 a.m.

Lunch

Monday to Saturday: Noon to 1 p.m.
Sunday brunch: 11 to 12:30 p.m.

Dinner

5 to 6 p.m.

Snacks

2 to 4 p.m.

Important shelter information

Kitchenette, Food Storage

St. Anne’s Place does not allow food in guest bedrooms, including snacks or drinks. All guests are given a locking cubby in the dining room and a bin in the community fridge where they can store personal food items. The guest kitchenette is available from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and has a microwave, toaster, hot water, tea, and coffee.

Keeping Your Room Clean and Room Inspections

Room inspections are conducted daily between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Having a clean room is important for the health and safety of our guests. During the inspection, staff will ensure:
Rooms have been swept and mopped

  • No tape is on the walls or ceiling
  • Nothing is hanging from the sprinklers and water pipes
  • No rotten food or other items are present and attracting pests
  • Trash is emptied.
  • No excessive belongings storage (2 bins maximum)
  • Maintenance issues

If you do not pass a room inspection, you will have 24 hours to clean the room before another inspection is held.

No food may be present in rooms, but personal food items may be stored in your personal cubby in the dining room and community fridge.

Health, Beauty, and Clothing Supplies

SAP Mall – Guests, including children, can earn SAP dollars to be used in our on-site shopping mall. Ways to earn SAP dollars include consistently passing room checks, attending programming without behavioral issues, being kind to your neighbor, completing house chores, and performing good deeds. The SAP Mall has items for all ages – hygiene supplies, hair care products, phone cases, headphones, bags, some household items, board games, stuffed animals, sports equipment, books, art supplies, jewelry, makeup, Legos, dolls, and more. When families are moving out, they have the opportunity to buy other items such as paint, sand art, Play-Doh, nail polish, science experiments, and other messy options not permitted in bedrooms.

Linens

Families are given clean linens upon arrival. Guests wash their linens in the laundry room and are provided with soap and other laundry supplies. If other linens are needed, you can request them at the front desk.

Tutor Lab, Computers, Tablets

St. Anne’s Place has a Tutor Lab with computers available for guest use. Families can also check out laptops and iPads from the front desk between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. A computer is also available in the playroom.
