Shelters for families experiencing homelessness
People Serving People operates two shelters for families experiencing homelessness in Hennepin County—one in Downtown Minneapolis and a shelter for women- and nonbinary-led families in North Minneapolis.
Your First Step
Call the Hennepin Shelter Hotline
Experiencing housing instability is stressful and scary, but you’re not alone. We’re here to help.
If you’re looking for shelter, you must first call the Hennepin Shelter Hotline at 612-204-8200.
People Serving People does not directly admit anyone to our shelters. If you’re a resident of Hennepin County, this hotline is your first step to get admitted to one of our emergency family shelters.
Please note that People Serving People’s shelters are family shelters that only serve Hennepin County residents. We do not serve single adults, but many organizations in the area do!
