What do we need?

The Development Associate will support the operations of the development team. This person will develop and cultivate a successful off-site volunteer event program and will be responsible for proper tracking, stewarding, and coordinating in-kind drop off from the events. They will also provide general support to the volunteer and in-kind programs.

Responsibilities for Development Associate:

  • Work with companies, schools, and groups to schedule, plan and lead off-site volunteer events
  • Speak and/or present to volunteer groups at off-site volunteer events regarding People Serving People’s work
  • Coordinate pick-up and drop-off of in-kind items for off-site volunteer events
  • Assist with scheduling of individual and group volunteers and related data management
  • Help organize and distribute in-kind items and assist with the gift acknowledgement processes
  • Monitor various email inboxes to ensure emails and inquiries are responded to in a timely manner
  • Recommend and implement process changes to streamline supporters’ experience and team efficiency
  • Utilize the Community Centric Fundraising principals in your day-to-day work
  • Staff evening and weekend development events occasionally when needed
  • Assist with special projects, development activities, and donation collection

Requirements for Development Associate:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior customer service related experience required
  • Prior non-profit or volunteering experience highly preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to issues of homelessness, poverty, and social justice, with a desire to work in a nonprofit organization supporting children and their families
  • Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal communications, public speaking, and customer service skills
  • Outstanding organization, time management and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and follow-up
  • Skilled in managing multiple tasks within a deadline
  • Ability to work independently and with a team

Pay and Benefits for Development Associate:

  • $19.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, business hours with occasional evenings required
  • Able to work from home 1 day per week
