Chefs for Change: A Chef’s Table Culinary Experience

Give My Regards To
Thank you Give My Regards To for
donating the invitations for each
Chefs for Change event in 2008!
Chefs for Change is a cooking demonstration and dining experience hosted by executive chefs from our cities finest restaurants. Over the past several years, chefs from restaurants including La Belle Vie, Palomino, Cosmos and the Oceanaire Seafood Room hosted Chefs for Change on one or more occasion.

Chefs for Change is held approximately once a month in People Serving People's state-of-the-art industrial kitchen. It is an intimate setting of 25-30 guests interested in a "chef’s table" experience followed by a four or five course meal with wine pairings. It is an exclusive and fun-filled experience to share with family or friends and opportunity for restaurants to gain unique recognition and exposure.

Chefs provide food with wine pairings and recipes for guests to take home. Some chefs prefer to bring their wait-staff, table settings and linens to recreate the ambiance of their restaurant. Guests are then able to experience the personality and unique flavor of the particular restaurant, as well as establish rapport with the chef and servers.

"Being involved in Chefs for Change is a great opportunity and one that provides meaningful return by sharing what I thoroughly enjoy – the creative preparation of food," says Rick Kimmes, Executive Chef of The Oceanaire Seafood Room. "When you see someone's eyes light up with amazement by the simple demonstration of what you take for granted, it's a pretty amazing feeling. I'm a chef but also a teacher at heart. If I can combine those factors with an event to benefit people in need, it's an honor."

Anyone can enjoy this unique dining experience with 100% of the proceeds used to fund People Serving People.
